As soon as I saw the words "audio taping the performances," I immediately thought of that TV episode from "What's Happening" when Rerun got caught tape recording a live performance by the Doobie Brothers. Yep, I totally dated myself with that reference.
When I was a kid, I used to tape record songs off of MTV 120 minutes via my boom box. I had one cassette that I played over and over again, notable not for the songs on it, but for the fact that my mom‘s stupid parakeet chirped for the entire length of side a. Still, to this day, wanna hear some of those songs, my brain half expects a tweet tweet tweet in the background.
