APAD OG!

I'm also trying not to buy much this year, this makes it harder!

This is great. There's a couple of books here that are unknown to me - I write reviews of photography monographs - so I'll add them to my list.

Excellent. Glad I could turn you onto some new work. Where do your reviews go? Drop a link. I’m sure we’d all love to read them.

Thanks for sharing. Will check some of those. I've re-read Rick Rubin's book twice and often just open it on a random page. Full of little gems

Great post Melissa! This reminds me that I haven't bought a couple of books on my list. I do own Trent Park's book and it is stunning.

Rick Rubin's has been on my list as well as the Shipping Forecast. I recently bought (pre-ordered) Gustavo Minas' Liquid Cities. Your list has given me some additional ideas I want to check out.

The older I get the less photo books I buy. I don’t know why.

Guess I’m downsizing as I consider all the madness in the world today and my ultimate demise due to old age or angry dictators with their finger on the nuke button.

I started selling off or donating all the vintage camera gear I rescued from estate sales in the past decade. Let some young whippersnapper have a chance at that squeaky canon body.

I do however found a fondness for zines. Lighter, easier to pack, easier to move as my muscles get weaker with age.

Just as inspirational and many are mostly done by analog photographers. I find that calming for some reason.

The zen of the wet lab darkroom; but honestly they shoot and scan the magical gelatin strip to create the zines. To those making silver gel prints, I salute you!

Should the grid go down, or the enemy subs off the coast of Florida ruin my way of life as I know it, the prepper in me has a bunch of film squirreled away. Plenty of manual bodies to use and I guess I need to stockpile some more film chems.

I might not be able to make photo books but with a solar generator and an enlarger I could still make memories and 8x10 prints!

Long live film!

Long Live Photo books!

Long live zines!

F8 and be there!!
