I founded a terrific online photo community called APhotoADay back in 2000 and I’ve been plugged into the photo world for 25 years. I’ve got my finger on the pulse of what’s happening and I’ve got an incredible network from which I’ll be curating fascinating links, highlighting great work, and hopefully inspiring you…

About me.

Ever since I was little, I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian. My last semester of community college, a counselor told me I needed to take an art elective to graduate my A.A. degree. So, I took a black-and-white photo class because it was the only thing that fit my schedule — and it lit up some part of my brain that math and science classes just weren’t. That changed everything. I ended up getting a journalism degree from the University of Florida, and I was a staff photographer for 15 years at various Florida newspapers. I’ve been freelancing for the last 10, first in Florida then in Los Angeles, and currently in Washington, DC.
