Here are 5 things I was looking at and loving this week:
🌟 One of my favorite iPhone apps is Sky Guide. 10/10 recommended, if you’re a star geek like me. This is augmented reality at its finest. Aim your phone at the sky and you have all the names and history of stars and constellations and more. (Those are two iPhone screenshots above, from my stargazing this weekend.)
🎨 R.I.P. Fernando Botero, Artist of Whimsical Rotundity
📷 Watching: a documentary on Shelby Lee Adams called The True Meaning of Pictures (thanks for the tip
).🎥 Speaking of tips: that doc is available on Kanopy, which is an amazing resource. Kanopy is a streaming service w/ documentaries, foreign films, classics, independent films, and some new releases — all you need is a library card.
âš¾ This is the best. For the second season in a row, the SF Giants turned over the player portraits shown on the scoreboard to children battling pediatric cancer. I also love that Sports Illustrated reviewed the artwork.
Skyguide looks interesting. I’ll have to check that app. Thanks!
