Whether it’s the summer doldrums or a compounded lack of sleep from having a 3-month-old baby, my brain is mush right now. So I’ve been consuming a lot of podcasts, trash TV (I’ll spare you on that!), and memes, with the occasional cool short video piece thrown in that can hold my attention for 15 minutes (or less!).
So, with that said, here are 5 things I was “looking” at and loving this week:
I’ve been binging Big Sugar. For those interested in Florida, the history of the Everglades, human rights issues, and/or an evil industry’s lobbying efforts… this podcast has it all, including guest cameos by Carl Hiaasen and Michael Grunwald and a great scene involving Bill Clinton, Monica Lewinsky & a Cuban sugar baron. And for those who want more, here’s the Vanity Fair story that inspired it.
I recently finished The Retrievals podcast and yeah… wow… if you haven’t listened to it yet, prepare to be pissed off both at the treatment of women (and disbelief by the medical system of their pain) as well as furious at the total lack of justice.

WTH did I just watch?! I wanted to like it, but it’s so bad it’s… awful.
Thanks for the “Big Sugar” reminder. And, Oy. The back flip. Two minutes was too long. WTH?
