The last 3 weeks have gotten away from me. Time is as short as it is long, and days are incredibly fluid with one blending into the next now. I’m lucky if I get to read a few things or finish a cup of coffee during a few peaceful moments. My morning routine and assembling this newsletter now resemble this (see below).
So here are five things I was looking at and loving this week:
I enjoyed Motherhood after 40. Mainly, because I’m now living it.
Digging this look back at When Skateboarding Was Young (by Bill Eppridge!). And on a related note, Ed Templeton documented skate culture from the inside.
Gorgeous photography and videography and beautiful storytelling emerged from Jonah Markowitz’s immersion into the Kensington neighborhood. From Dawn to Dusk: Where Bangladeshi Brooklyn Gathers is actually a love letter to NYC.
I love it when worlds collide. Articles of Interest and Ear Hustle — two of my favorite podcasts — collaborated on one great episode about prison uniforms.
OMG. They’re so cute. Happy pride, y’all.
That article on Kensington and the photos. Love it. I remember once going to hang out on the edge of Kensington and Midwood and seeing concrete basketball courts totally taken over with cricket. It was a blast for this cricket-lover's heart. Took me back to the UK watching club and test match cricket.
