This week’s newsletter feels like a whisper or perhaps a quiet shout. The reality of freelance - especially right now - is that there’s a lot of downtime and I’m trying to be good about making the most of it. At one point I might have said it should be used for personal projects and marketing and doing all the things you don’t have time to do when you’re busy working. But right now it’s being used for mental health and well-being. Rest. Relaxation. I’m reading a lot. I’m walking. I’m riding my bike. And I’m ok with that. The last link in this newsletter made me think about how a lifetime of creativity is akin to surfing: riding the waves, keeping your head above water, knowing when to keep paddling and when to stand up, and most importantly trying to find some semblance of balance.
Support DC’s Mt. Pleasant Library with my new favorite T-shirt, which was inspired by the awesome DC Punk Archive of zines, fliers, posters, and programs.
I’m loving this thread with images of mobile libraries from around the world.
