The weather has finally turned nice here, which means I’ve spent more time this week outside on my bike than inside on the computer. Though, the cortisone shot in my lower back has also seriously helped with my desire to be in motion again.
What else is new? I’m about 20 days into a Duolingo Spanish streak. I got my ass kicked by Wordle this week (QUALM! REALLY?!). And I’m slogging my way through a book I’m not 100% sold on, but I’m too far in to stop now. Otherwise, here are five things I was looking at and loving this week — besides the greenery in Rock Creek Park and the afternoon light in my kitchen (see photo below).
Personally, I love living in a 15-minute city.
Behind the Scenes of Barack Obama’s Reading Lists
I bought Ragnar Axelsson’s book Faces of the North in Iceland in 2005. Bleary-eyed from travel, and up early from jetlag, I was out wandering Reykjavík at dawn, when I stumbled across an incredible outdoor display of his work in a town square. The work is stunning, and I was lucky enough to track down a copy of the book before I left the country. But I’m somehow just now coming across his stunning ode to Greenlandic dogs. Glad I did, it’s gorgeous work.
Three words: bruised banana artwork. (It’s very a-peal-ing.)
Money. Profiting off of hate speech is what’s keeping him from saying no. Sigh.
Never heard about Duolingo
Ragnar Axelsson's photographs are awesome! Thank you for sharing this!
