The James Barnor Prize was born out of James Barnor's desire to promote and support photography talents in the African continent or wider African diaspora, and to increase their visibility at an international level. And I’m so glad it exists. I’ve really enjoyed discovering some incredibly talented artists, especially the inaugural (photo) laureate, Sènami Donoumassou. Her work is blowing my mind. If you want to learn about James Barnor, there’s an Instagram account dedicated to his archives and a great pic of him in action with some background info here.
