Gabriella Angotti-Jones’ “I Just Wanna Surf” is one of the most joyful photobooks I’ve seen in a long time. “Centered on Black women and nonbinary surfers, its pages are filled with lush images of the sea and the people who ride its waves, with locations ranging from California to Costa Rica. But it’s also a personal heirloom, chronicling Angotti-Jones’ own journey with surfing and depression.”
I love Zach’s hand-drawn maps of DC neighborhoods and buildings but I really, really love the watershed ones.
For the last week, I’ve been sharing my students’ work from this year’s Mountain Workshops on my Instagram account. Check out some beautiful photos from stories they (literally) drew out of a hat. There is: the last dairy farmers in the county, husband and wife band directors, Dan the family man, married head coaches, a horse massage therapist, and a family of amazing working women.
Zoomquilt is what the Internet was made for.
Looks like this tweet resonated with people.
