Another week, another handful of things I’m thinking about, saw, read, or just felt like sharing. As my good friend Sol recently said, “I’m always impressed how your newsletters are 💯 you and cover all topics of curiosity.” They are, indeed, little glimpses into the randomness of how my brain works. So, enjoy the links and the weekend. I’m heading up to Leitchfield, Kentucky to be a photo coach at the Mountain Workshops next week, so if you’re around, please say hi.
I’ve gone down a Russian rabbit hole recently, trying to better understand a country and a culture I know nothing about. I’m reading Masha Gessen’s The Future Is History: How Totalitarianism Reclaimed Russia and I’m taking Duolingo’s Russian course, where I’m learning the important things, like Где моя пицца? On a related note, I love pretty much everything Rob Hornstra does. If you’d like to know more, here’s a great conversation between Hornstra and Jörg M. Colberg.
HA! Prepare yourselves for my next death-defying stunt, where I will be riding my bike in—THE BIKE LANE.
I was rooting for 901, but 747 (aka Bear Force One) won again. I ❤️ #FatBearWeek.
Speaking of animals, NatGeo’s 2022 Best Wildlife Images are awesome.
