Here are some things I’ve been looking at and loving this week:
I’m digging these photos of the Capital Bike Club (est. in 1879). Speaking of bikes, it’s perfect riding weather here in DC. Oh, I also want to read Two Wheels Good: The History and Mystery of the Bicycle and I’m definitely buying this patch.
Beautiful work by photographer Nina Riggio capturing The Elusive Future of San Francisco’s Fog. And if you’re not following Karl (the Fog) on Twitter, you should.
This is a terrific profile of Willie Nelson, “the man whose likeness should be carved into the golden bong of posterity.” And those Philip Montgomery photos… Wow.
Lizzo + the Library of Congress’ flute collection = Good as Hell
Paul Simon + Ladysmith Black Mambazo will put a smile on your face.
And if that didn’t work, Dolly Parton + Ladysmith Black Mambazo will definitely do the trick. They performed covers of Cat Stevens’ Peace Train (there’s a video, too, but sadly the quality is pretty low, though seeing them all together is lovely) AND Bob Dylan’s Knocking on Heaven’s Door. Both are incredible.
Thank you! We watched that Paul Simon video the other night. Love what you do, Melissa!
Bicyclists: One year ago I reached the border of Mexico after 90 days bicycle camping from Canada. Please scroll back to my daily blog on my www.instagram.com/county_photographer page. I would love to hear/see about your bikepacking adventures too.
