I was photographing something on the Hill this week, and when I turned around to scan the crowd, this woman caught my eye. I approached her afterwards and told her that I was curious about her tattoo. She told me it’s the title of a Mac Miller song and what it means to her. Then she said it’s taken on a bigger meaning lately, because she realizes we could all use a little good news. Do yourself a favor and listen to the song. It’s catchy, and the lyrics are powerful.
Here are 5 things I was looking at and loving this week:
This is my new mantra.
"If you believe, as corporations or as networks, you can make yourselves so innocuous that you can serve a gruel so flavorless that you will never again be on the boy king's radar, A) Why will anyone watch you?, and B) You're fucking wrong." It’s worth watching Jon Stewart’s monologue about CBS’s boneheaded decision to cancel Colbert’s The Late Show. Now this is my new new mantra.
Listen to the most recent Foto podcast with Brian Finke on staying curious.
Three great things I’ve stolen from Eric Maierson to share with you are: this interview with the always fascinating Kevin Kelly, Seth Godin’s notes to himself, and 27 Notes on Growing Old(er).
Marionettes are weird. And I love it.
This makes me so happy! I love Mac Miller, and Good News is definitely one of the best songs on the Circles album!
