Here are 5 things I was looking at and loving this week:
This story is beautifully written and rich in detail. I read Zarif Khan's Tamales and the Muslims of Sheridan, Wyoming last week, and I’m still thinking about it. What a wild ride that wraps one man’s interesting personal history around a crappy facet of American history. Also, I’ll now read anything Kathryn Schulz writes.
I love Amy Stewart’s idea of the Self-Appointed Artist Residency of your world.

“Technology is part of life… but it’s not a replacement for real-world experiences.” We should all follow their lead: Finland Returns to Books and Sweden Says No to Screens for Toddlers.
This looks like a ridiculously fun collaboration between Ryan McGinley and Bowen Yang. Great profile, too.

The Amy Stewart The Self-Appointed Artist Residency ("It's Good to Be Here" Substack) hits the spot today! Thank you Melissa!
